Who the courses are for

Practicing electrical engineers, graduate students, and advanced undergraduates who already know circuit theory and basic AC power, and who want to go deeper into how power systems are modeled and simulated. Each course states its own prerequisites on its syllabus page.

How a course works

  • Read the theory. Each chapter derives the ideas from first principles — no black boxes.
  • Run the lab. Worked examples come with an Open in app link that loads a ready-to-run circuit. You change a value, re-run, and watch the result move.
  • Do the problems. Every chapter ends with problems. Solutions are tucked behind a toggle so you can check your work after trying.

Available courses

  • EMT Simulation of Power Systems — how electromagnetic-transient simulators represent a network, discretize its components, and march the full voltage/current waveform forward in time. Built around hands-on NumaSim circuits, from a first RL step response up through transmission lines, machines, and controls.
